Intse Hamstra

I am trained as a psychologist at the University of Amsterdam. After years of working as a communication advisor and project leader, I further trained myself in coaching and counselling. I followed several accredited coaching courses and courses in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR.

Every coaching programme is tailor-made. During the intake session, we explore your coaching question. If there is a ‘click’ and my approach appeals to you, we will start. We will ook at what hinders you to achieve your goal. Which underlying patterns may play a role? I support, guide and motivate you to then apply your newly acquired insights into your life.

My style is clear, practical and purposeful. The people I coach describe me as involved, calm, accepting, level-headed and professional. The coaching trajects are down to earth and never take longer than necessary. I use both conversations and experiential learning, for example through the use of exercises. You can expect me to provide you with tailor-made models and instruments, which will allow you to gain more insight into the how and why of your own thinking and doing. I work eclectically and draw on various psychological theories and methods,  such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Voice Dialogue and EMDR.
